Is it legal to buy Cuban Cigars?
Yes. There has always been a very large business in selling
Cuban Cigars to the US. Recently, the US Dept. of Justice
modified its original embargo on Cuban products to allow importation
of a limited amount of Cuban cigars when returning from a
licensed trip to Cuba. This law, in practice, has been expanded
by the public and law enforcement to allow the public to import
small amounts of up to 2 boxes of Cuban Cigars for personal
use. Although there is no law that outlines the ability for
a US resident to import Cuban Cigars, of the tens of thousands
of customers that are importing Cuban Cigars into the US,
there is no record of anyone every being prosecuted for importing
an order for personal use. It has become common place with
many customers regularly ordering including movie stars, military
personal, and even politicians and law enforcement (trust
us we know).
That being said, the US government has shown interest and
fined businesses located in the US for openly selling large
volumes of Cuban Cigars in public view. Customers running
businesses selling in hotels or other private settings such
as Casinos have experienced little or no problems.
It is worth noting, we do not recommend bringing Cigars back
from trips across the border to Canada or Mexico. The border
guards have been looking for individuals bringing back large
amounts and have a lot of discretionary power to hassle individuals
brining them across, even for personal use. Most people who
buy in Canada, ship them home to themselves before they leave,
or buy online just to avoid the hassle.

How do you ship? How long does it take to receive my order?
We ship either express 3-5 day signed courier with online tracking number or standard registered 7-10 day mail. In both cases we guarantee you will receive your package safely and with out delay, typically shipping from our locations to you in 24-48 hours. For more information see our Shipping & Payments page.

Do your cigars come in the original packaging when shipped?
In almost all cases, Yes. Depending on which country we ship from, and which products they are, we ship in one of two ways:
- Original unopened boxes in plain and unmarked postal packages. This is the method we almost always ship by.
- We ship the cigars first, separating the cigars from the original boxes, remove the rings, and putting them in a specially made box (exactly the same but no Cuban markings) and shipping. At the same time we ship the rings out in a separate package. We only use this method when border crossings are particularly tight. Because we guarantee delivery, when the US is on high alert for terrorism.

How do I know the cigars you sell
are authentic?
Since the beginning of the US Cuban trade embargo, there has
always been a black market economy in fake Cuban Cigars. Most
of these fakes are of very poor quality and are easy to spot.
Recently, there has been a flood of hard to spot fake Cubans
coming on the market through unauthorized retailers sometimes
even producing them without license in Cuba. We take this
threat very seriously, and protect the quality and authenticity
of our products by only buying through Habanos S.A., the original
producer and manufacturer of all Cuban Cigars. When purchasing
we only buy bulk unopened boxes, cases and master cases.
We guarantee and stand by the fact that all of the products
we sell are 100% authentic.

There are quite a few. We have a lot of regular orders on the Coronas Especiales and Robustos. There are the most well known and always make a great gift when in doubt.

I am a first time buyer, what should I order?
Each one of the brands has a very different smoke. Some are much stronger than others and they come in very different shapes. It is often a matter of great personal preference, which one develops over time. For first time customers, we usually recommend buying one of our specials which offers a great selection of different types. Alternatively, you may feel free to call in and have one of our cigar consultants assist you with your order.

I am ordering a gift, what would you recommend?
Coronas Especiales and Robustos by Cohiba are the most popular followed by Montecristo and Romeo Y Julieta . A lot of customers who are ordering for a friend or loved one will call in to ask us for assistance or will order one of our specials which gives the person a chance to enjoy the brands they like and try some new ones too.

How do you store your cigars?
Cigar storage is very important. To large impart the taste and burn of the cigar depends on the conditions it was stored in. Once a cigar has been stored in poor conditions, it can never be corrected. We store all cigars in their original cases in a special facility at room temperature with a humidity level of 65%-75%. We only take them out immediately before shipping and ship all cigars in either original sealed packaging or safe and sealed packaging. In this way we insure you get your cigars in the condition they were meant to be smoked.

How should I store my cigars?
If you do not have a humidor we suggest you buy one. It is very important to store your cigars in a way which will prevent them from dying out. A humidor is specially designed to keep cigars fresh enough to be a great smoke but not humid enough that they begin to mold or degrade. One can store them without a humidor, but they will dry out quickly and can not be dehydrated. It is commonly understood that a cigar that has dried out is not as good as a fresh one. We do sell humidors and are happy to assist you with selecting one.
